Joe & Bella is the first truly contemporary adaptive-apparel brand for older adults.

Their stylish, comfortable clothes balance form and function, in turn making dressing easier, stress-free, and more dignified.

When you are no longer able to dress yourself, your world is often turned upside down. Physical and cognitive needs can change quickly. But who we are at our core remains unchanged. Living with age-related changes does not mean, for example, wearing clothes that don’t look or feel like you. What we wear is a part of our identity.

Joe & Bella is a “passion project” of a single family whose all-too-common experience of caring and advocating for aging parents has led them to innovate and create the finest adaptive clothing for older adults. Though Joe & Bella’s beginnings are humble and fairly recent, our promise to improve the lives of older adults, their caregivers, and families has catapulted our growth.

Joe & Bella is named after two special individuals whose strength of character & sense of humor inspired and comforted the family of Joe & Bella’s founders during one unforgettable evening more than a decade ago.

In 2012, after their grandmother fell one too many times despite in-home care, Jimmy and Peter Zollo, and their family, made the decision to move her into an assisted-living community. They believed she no longer had the physical capability to live safely at home. Two weeks later, they moved my grandfather, who was living with Parkinson's, into the same community. He and their grandmother were reunited, but shaken from the unexpected turn their lives had taken after 60 years in their own home.

That first evening at the community, as they navigated this new world thrust upon them, they were approached by Joe and Bella, two other new residents. With a touch of humor, they warmly introduced themselves and offered a helping hand.

They quickly became part of Jimmy and Peter’s family, joining them for holidays and special occasions. They fell in love with their adopted grandparents. Joe and Bella made such a wonderful, positive difference in their lives. Jimmy and Peter are proud to honor their legacy and impact on their family by naming Joe & Bella after them. Joe & Bella’s mission is to bring more dignity, joy, and ease to the lives of older adults and those who care for them and – in doing so – helping older adults rediscover and express their identities through what they wear.
